Marjorie MacInnes is the expertise behind Skye Kin, driven by a passion for unravelling the genealogical web of family history and connections that cover the Duirinish area of north-western Skye.

Born at Claigan, by Dunvegan on Skye,  Marjorie's interest and fascination for local family history was kindled 30 years ago. Initially researching her own family roots, curiosity deepened as her research extended to her husband's family from the Glendale area of Skye.

The fascinating local history, the closeness of Skye families, access to both official and family records, plus tales handed down of generations past, led Marjorie on to complete both a Certificate in Local Studies at Aberdeen University (including a dissertation on the history of her own area of Claigan) and then a Certificate in Scottish Family History at Stirling University.

Drawing on a wealth of accumulated information, local knowledge and contacts, Marjorie  now offers her professional expertise and services through Skye Kin, for anyone wishing to find out more about their family history and roots in the north western parishes of Skye.
